There are innumerable reasons for Big-Church and other Churches to exist, but one reason stands far above all others: We exist to worship and give praise to the God who created us, who sustains us, and who inspires us, each and every day of our lives; to the Lord Jesus Christ our strength and salvation; and to the Holy Spirit, who breathes sacred breath into us.


Our worship is rooted in the Bible, whose words and wisdom have guided the Church for more than four centuries. We live out the Church's theological underpinnings of "Scripture, Reason, and Tradition," and at the same time we strive to let our worship empower us to carry Christ into the world, through outreach, in mission, and in our daily lives.

Education and training in the Christian faith, especially in the study of the Bible, are essential aspects of parish life at Big-Church. We offer a variety of opportunities to enrich and deepen one's faith in a warm community of fellowship.

 


2:42 Groups - take their name from Acts 2:42 which says of the early church, "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."  These small groups meet regularly for Bible study and prayer. In most groups, there is an opening prayer, some kind of opening activity (often it's singing or an ice-breaker question), a Bible study discussion, time for catching up with one another, sharing of prayer requests, and prayer.

 

 

As Christians, we see ourselves as faith journeyers, both as individuals and as a congregation. We are seeking to discern and live out God's will for us, both within the church community, and beyond in the wider world in which we live.  It is an exciting journey; we invite you to come and journey with us!
