We are a Spirit-filled ministries of people seeking to be faithful to our promise to continue in Jesus teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in the prayers. We also take to heart our obligation to seek and serve Christ in all people and respect the dignity of every human being.
We are men and women, young and not-so-young, married, single, and single-again. Some of us have come from other faith traditions; and some of us are still members of other Churches but are worshiping here as we seek to discern where God wants us to be. Some of us had a strong Christian faith foundation when we came here; some of us have been introduced to Jesus right here at Big-Church. Some of us prefer a traditional service; some of us prefer a prayer & praise service. Some of us genuflect; and some of us raise our hands. All of us, together, make up the community of Big-Church. And what we all have in common is our love for Jesus Christ and our desire to serve him.
The commitment of the ACTS Missions Ministry at Big-Church is to lead our congregation to carry out the command of our Lord in Acts 1:8 to the best of our abilities. In Acts 1:8, Jesus says: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Our goal is to reach out to those who have never made a personal commitment of their lives to Jesus Christ and to those who have previously made such a commitment but have fallen away. In following Jesus' command, we will reach out in (Judea), in the United States (Samaria), and to all parts of the world (ends of the earth). Our approach will be to partner with local churches, ministries, missionaries, people groups, and/or projects. We will seek to determine where God is at work and join Him. Our priority will be to seek partnerships with persons or organizations that are reaching the unsaved. These will primarily be new works or works which reach people groups which have not had a gospel witness.
As Christians, we see ourselves as faith journeyers, both as individuals and as a congregation. We are seeking to discern and live out God's will for us, both within the church community, and beyond in the wider world in which we live. It is an exciting journey; we invite you to come and journey with us! © 2000 big-church | ||
